You may remember my friends Pat and Kim Weber, who adopted the special needs baby from China, Hadassah. 

Many other people and I prayed for her to be part of the Webers’ family by Christmas 2009, and God answered our prayers.  Well, I finally got to hold Hadassah in my arms this week! 

Pat had to do some work in Kansas City, MO, and he and his family wanted to visit his mom who’s been sick in the hospital with pneumonia – plus, everyone here wanted to meet Hadassah!  (Please keep Pat’s mom Betty in your prayers.)

On Tuesday our youngest daughter Leah and I drove to their hotel in Overland Park, KS, to see Kim and the kids while Pat worked, and enjoyed the hotel’s swimming pool and hot tub.  “It’s a hard life, but somebody’s got to do it!”  The Kansas City rain cleared long enough for all of us to get in the water awhile, then we walked a block  for a lunch of philly cheesesteak sandwiches at Chartroose Caboose.

It was so good to see Kim and the kids again, and Hadassah is gorgeous and so sweet!  She has a very calm, peaceful personality.  She is thriving in this loving family, learning English words quickly, and most importantly she’s learning about Jesus!   She is even using her hand some that was defective at birth.  The fingers on this hand are even straightening some, and she is in regular physical therapy to work with it.  Her progress in physical therapy has been great.

Hadassah is in very good health, gaining weight on Kim’s delicious, home-cooked meals. She is so well bonded to her parents and siblings, it is just a God thing!   And Hadassah  loves Sesame Street. 

In the first video below, you will see Kim and her beautiful kids.  Hadassah likes to see herself on camera, so she came over to me while I was trying to film to look at her “picture.” 

In the second video, you will hear Hadassah saying my name (YES!), some of my family’s names, and the names of the characters on Sesame Street.  The “sausage” Megan is holding at the end of the video is the long pillow for the hotel couch that Hadassah loved to play on, lol!

Hadassah is adorable.  Oh, I wanted to keep her here! 

Thanks again for all your prayers for her, and please continue to keep Pat, Kim, and their family in prayer for provision for the adoption.   When I saw Hadassah and held her, all I could do was just praise God for this miracle of love.  Hadassah is living proof that God answers prayer!

How are you enjoying 2010 so far? I’ve been really busy! But I don’t want to be JUST busy – I want to be fruitful for God’s kingdom, bringing glory to Him! 

This week I went out and bought some “supplies” for the new year. I feel like I am in school again – a new wall calendar, a 3-ring notebook, some sheet protectors, and a new Franklin Covey Dayplanner that is smaller than my previous one, so I can carry it wherever I go now!  It has everything I need…..monthly and yearly calendar, important addresses, tabs to record to-do lists, shopping,  menus, personal and family information, notes….what my coach Cindy amusingly calls “my brain in a binder.”    

The wall calendar I bought is a TinkerBell one, and it shows a different picture of her each month, with a cute expression written on it. This month’s motto is “Let the sparkles fly!”  I really like that, don’t you?

Ready to sparkle and shine in 2010?  Just think about all the good things that happened in 2009 – and I believe 2010 is going to be even better for all of us! 

Speaking of good things……..for those of you who have been keeping up with my blogs on , my friends Pat and Kim Weber, you know that they are home now from China with their adopted baby girl Hadassah. Pictured above are Pat’s and Kim’s three children, with their new “Sissy.”  Isn’t she just precious?  The kids are really enjoying her.  What an unforgettable Christmas miracle for that family! And I love how Kim is dressing Megan and Hadassah like twins.   

From Kim, (she said it was fine to post what she wrote), here is the latest update:  “I just uploaded some new pictures to an album called Hadassah at home (on Shutterfly). I can’t believe we’ve been home a week already. Hadassah was amazing on the way home and slept 7 hours of the 11 hour flight, as well as on the other 2 flights. We are so thankful to God and so glad to be home. She has been adjusting well and bonding with everyone. She is such a happy, delightful little girl. We had a few rough nights with her getting used to the time difference, but she is sleeping well now and eating like crazy. She loves American food. Yes, our God is GOOD!

For those of you have been following the story of my friends Pat and Kim Weber in Florida who adopted the baby girl from China, they arrived safely home with Hadassah on Christmas Eve 2009 about midnight, praise the Lord!  Thank you SO much to all of you who were praying for them.  Hadassah slept seven of the 11 hours coming home on the plane flights, praise God, and she has bonded very quickly with Pat’s and Kim’s three children at home! 

When it is 3 p.m. in the U.S., it is about 4 a.m. in China, so Hadassah’s days and nights are mixed up right now, and Pat and Kim are still tired from their long trip to China. Please pray that Hadassah would adjust quickly to the time change, for God to restore Pat’s and Kim’s strength, and for financial provision for Pat and Kim to repay the loan they borrowed for the adoption.

I am SOOOOO excited over this miraculous adoption and just can’t praise Jesus enough – oh, our God is good! Pat, Kim, and their children are very happy and are thankful to God and to all who prayed for them.  The children adore Hadassah, and are such big helpers.  This precious little girl, whose own parents abandoned her as a baby in the streets of China, now has a home in America where she will be taken  excellent care of, loved, and protected by two loving, godly parents and three adoring siblings. This is truly the heart of our God! 

Our God is a BIG God who answers prayers!  He hears our voice as we pray. Don’t stop praying!   Prayer with faith in Christ WORKS!

“For Zion’s sake, I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns.
