Thy will be done

This morning I was going to the dollar store and heard the beautiful song by Hillary Song, Thy Will, on K-Love radio station. The instruments are just incredible.

It struck me because right now I’m going through some emotional storms:

  • My deeply troubled marriage;
  • Our uncertain rental house situation (the landlord is selling the house, and we’re not sure where we’re going to live yet);
  • Financial problems that seem to have no end in sight;
  • Our grown kids’ various struggles;
  • Many questions about exactly what God is doing in my life right now.

I parked our car and just listened to the song, worshipping and praying.

Then when I came out of the store, Third Day’s song I need a miracle was playing.

I prayed,  “Yes, God, right now I need a couple of miracles!”

The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and whispered, “You are the miracle.”

It took me aback, but this is so true. God has done amazing, miraculous things in my life.

Jesus is my Lord, Savior, Healer, Deliverer, Strength, Strong Tower, Rock, Best Friend, Husband, Mighty God and King. I give Him all the glory for what He’s done in my life.

I know God is El Roi, and He sees me. (Genesis 16:13). He has goodness in store for me. (Jeremiah 29:11) It’s hard to count it all joy, and I’m distracted by the noise in my life. But He wants to use me in miraculous ways for HIS glory. I need to just trust Him, because God is faithful

Below are some of the lyrics to Thy Will, that really blessed me.

Yes, Lord, Thy will be done in my life.

Part of Thy Will Lyrics

…Somehow I ended up here

I don’t wanna’ think

I may never understand

that my broken heart

may be part of Your plan…

I know you’re good But this don’t feel good right now

And I know you think Of things I could never think about

It’s hard to count it all joy

Distracted by the noise

Just trying to make sense Of all your promises

Sometimes I gotta stop

Remember that you’re God And I am not

So Thy will be done Thy will be done Thy will be done

Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is

Thy will be done Thy will be done Thy will

I know you see me

I know you hear me,

Lord Your plans are for me

Goodness you have in store

I know you hear me

I know you see me,

Lord Your plans are for me

Goodness you have in store

So Thy will be done Thy will be done.

What is obedience?

What is obedience to God? I learned this from the leaders Roger and Laureen Traver at the Moumtaintop Ministries marriage retreat in Kansas City, Kansas, this weekend with my husband Ray, which I’m going to blog about this week.

I thought what they said was powerful and true, so I made a graphic from it at Canva.

Obedience is…

What is your big dream? What is holding you back from achieving it?

I saw a sign this week in town that read, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” While I agree with that, I believe it takes faith in God, self-discipline, smart work, and not quitting to get there!

I’m excited to announce that my new eBook for Kindle, The Cinderella Story: The Power of Dreams, is launching! You can pre-order it for just 99 cents. The price will go up after its launch.

You can find out more about the book at Amazon here.

The book is based on the beloved fairy tale of Cinderella, one of my favorites. In it, I share what to do when it’s taking a long time to reach your dreams, or even when your dream seems to die.

I also write about it with a different twist: looking at life by walking in the “shoes” of the other characters in the book: the wicked stepmother’s perspective, the jealous stepsisters’, the fairy godmother.

Be sure to tell your family,friends, and business peers. I believe this book will bless you!
