The Power of Shoes virtual retreat, September 16, 2021

I just hosted and spoke at The Power of Shoes speakers/writers virtual retreat on September 16-17, 2021. It was amazing and the speakers were anointed by God!

I’ve held these speakers/writers retreats in person twice before here in Butler, Missouri, where I live, and taught part of it at my friend Missy Hoffman’s live event in Hutchinson, Kansas. My business coach Diane Cunningham Ellis encouraged me to “pivot” when Covid-19 hit the USA and so many speaking venues were closed; she said to bring my speaking online.

So that is what I did. This is the first virtual retreat that I’ve done and it was fun! I hope to do more in the future. What an honor and a blessing that these gifted speakers said yes to God and to me.

One attendee said, “Thank you so much, Beth. This was a wonderful event!”

Another said, “Great retreat, Beth!”

If you wanted to attend this virtual retreat but weren’t able to sign up yet, I’m now offering the recording replay videos and the bonuses with this event at half off the event price — just $50!

When I traveled to Ireland with my precious daughter Leah several years ago, one of the things I did to prepare was to buy us both good hiking boots for the treacherous, high terrain at times. Ireland has lots of mountains, cliffs, hills, forests, and rain. I’m so glad that I did this! I bought us the same kind and they were perfect for the trip. You can see Leah’s hiking boots in the pic below at the Cliffs of Moher.

Shoes are important. They protect our feet. They give us support. And they take us exciting, new places!

The right pair of shoes can even change your destiny, like Cinderella’s glass slippers did.  As speakers and writers, we need to walk in the shoes that God has created us for, sharing our heart’s unique and powerful messages. You have a message to share that others need to hear!

Conquer the 3 P’s mini-training (procrastination, perfectionism, and other pitfalls)

I’m not a procrastinator, but I have family members who are. Drives me crazy!

However, I do struggle with perfectionism. I call perfectionism “procrastination dressed up in high heels.” Both are usually rooted in fear. Fear of being “good enough” or “perfect enough.” No one is perfect but Jesus!

There’s another “P” word. Pitfalls. What are these? Things like scrolling on social media too much, busyness, laziness, cleaning the house, organizing, errands to run, or anything that serves as a distraction to stop you from doing what God has called and anointed you to do and to be.

There’s nothing wrong or sinful about these things. But they can sabotage your success and mine.
