The Call of Wisdom

The Call of Wisdom: Teaching Our Children at Home

Are you thinking about homeschooling your child or children or do you need help along the way?

When our daughter Heather was at the end of her 10th grade year, God spoke to my heart to homeschool her.

I was so scared! I didn’t know anyone who homeschooled.

I hadn’t completed my B.A. degree in college yet, and didn’t feel “qualified” to teach her. (You don’t have to have a degree! God has anointed you as the parent to teach your children!)

I was afraid of truancy officers showing up at the front door.

But with the word of the Lord and my husband Ray’s full support and encouragement, I stepped out in faith to obey God. What an amazing journey and blessing from God it has been!

You can do this, too!

Homeschooling our daughters gave me some of the most precious memories in our family.

Our youngest daughter Leah (whom we always homeschooled) graduated in 2013. Sometimes I really miss it ~ especially at the beginning of the school year, when everyone is buying new school supplies and clothes!

No, it wasn’t always easy. Sometimes I wanted to give up.

Maybe you don’t even want to homeschool -or you want to just quit and send them to a private or public school, while you go shopping, eat Mexican, or have coffee with a friend.

Yep, I’ve been there. As a fellow homeschool mom, I know there are good days ~ and bad!

But I promise you, sweet friend, it’s worth it all!  I’m so thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity to have spent my time teaching our children at home.

I’d love to come alongside of you and be a source of encouragement to you as you step out in faith on this exciting adventure!
