New shoes

This year I am making my health and fitness a priority again, so I’m walking at the track and a pretty path in town, eating healthier, and  not drinking Dr. Pepper (a big challenge!). Yesterday I got to the track later and it began raining. It had rained on and off all day yesterday. At one point in the afternoon, there was sunshine so I sat outside awhile to soak up Vitamin D.

Before I went to the track, I had been “voxing” (Voxer app, like a walkie-talkie/text app for both iPhones and Androids) with my biz coach, Diane Cunningham Ellis. She was talking to me about my Nike shoes, which have been great walking shoes, but are several years old. Diane used to run marathons, 10K’s, and 5K’s.

Diane said that I needed to buy new ones with the best support and fit, and suggested that I google for a local running shoes store, where the staff helps you find shoes with the best fit and support. They actually watch you walk as you try on different shoes, to examine your gait, etc.

Hope Ignited Facebook event starts Monday, March 8!

Hope Ignited event

Tomorrow to celebrate International Women’s Day, my lovely Canadian friend and biz peer Doreen Penner is hosting a virtual event on Facebook, Hope Ignited: Empowering Women to Rise Up! I am so excited and honored to be among the lineup of speakers for this event!

It is a full day of inspiration and encouragement. On pre-recorded Zoom videos, the six speakers are sharing their stories, wisdom, experience, and action steps.

It begins tomorrow, Monday, March 8, and lasts until Friday, March 12, to give you time to view the videos and join us. The event page is here.

Bring your hot coffee or your fave cold drink, a journal and a pen to take notes, and mingle with the speakers on the event page here. Leave your comments and feel free to ask Doreen and the speakers any questions.

I’d love to connect with you there and I pray this event uplifts you. Please share and invite a family member or friend who needs HOPE, inspiration, and encouragement! Each speaker will have a different topic. It’s going to be fun!

It’s a matter of obeying God! Only 2 days left until doors close for my virtual writers & speakers training.

I decided to not edit or re-record my video from today, even though I goofed a couple of times! For me, writing and speaking is my calling from God (besides being a mom and traveling where God says to go!). It’s a matter of obeying God. Has God told you to write a book or step out to speak? Are you obeying Him?

My friend Susan Evans (a speaker, author, and homeschooling mom) commented on my Facebook Live video the other day that she uses her spiritual gifts and really wants to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when she sees God. I do, too! What about you?
