It’s been a minute since I’ve blogged here at BethJones.net. As they say (do you ever wonder who “they” are?), life has been “lifein’.” Recently, we combined our family’s July 4th celebration with my husband Ray’s birthday.

Our daughter Heather invited us over to her house for Ray to cook his infamous, delicious Cajun grilled chicken and I baked Dolly Parton fudge chocolate brownies. Heather also offered broccoli salad, chips, and cold bottles of water and sodas. It was super fun and I was so happy to see our beautiful daughters, Heather and Leah. On Ray’s actual birthday a few days later, I made him a home-made lime pie, which he loves.

I’ve been busy writing another book. It’s the 2nd book in my non-fiction “Write your book” series. It is called Write Your Book: Getting Past the Messy Middle. I just finished the second edit and plan to hire the formatter tomorrow, then I’ll upload it to KDP Amazon.
I can’t wait to share the cute cover with you that has a woman writing at her laptop, coffee, and an adorable orange cat! I love cats and have two sweet, beautiful ones, Natalya and Nichodemus. Sometimes they are friends, and sometimes NOT! Below is a picture of them sitting in our sunroom, which they love. It is their “tv entertainment room,” watching the squirrels and the birds outside.

To be first to hear about my newest books and speaking events, be sure to sign up with your name and email address at the bottom of the home page. You’ll also receive a free gift when you subscribe. I try to send out a newsletter at least once or twice a month, and to give you encouraging, inspiring content to enjoy.

This week has been exciting. I booked a paid speaking event for Spring 2027, and today I talked with another event planner for a women’s event for Fall 2027. She will discuss it with her church’s board and get back with me for a definite answer. If you are an event planner, women’s ministry leader, or a pastor and need a dynamic, Biblically-based speaker for your event, you can contact me here.

For the last year and a half, I’ve been hosting and speaking at my own local events at Bates Social venue in Butler, Missouri, where I live. I was honored that my friends Tim and Jen Hamm joined me and spoke there, too. I was especially happy that my daughter Heather came and served as a vendor for her t-shirt biz, Unique Clothing and More.
I had a rain and ducks theme for the Spring 2026 event. I decorated with an umbrella, rain boots, a duck candle (from my Etsy shop), and found cute duck gift bags on Amazon to fill with little treats and to give the ladies who attended goodie bags – so fun!

I’m planning another event this Fall 2026 and can’t wait to have the ladies join us! My second speaker for this event will share her amazing story and you don’t want to miss it. We’d love for you to come!
I’ve also been busy adding items to my new Etsy shop, which I started last winter. You can check out my cute coffee cups, pretty wall art, journals, and more for Christian women here.

Let me also briefly share some other stuff. I’ve also been walking through a scary, dark valley for the last year and a half. Through it all, I’ve found that God is faithful. He’s teaching me to trust Him day by day and step by step, whether I’ve ascended to the tallest mountain peak (like booking a paid speaking event, publishing a new book, or spending time with my kids) or going through an uncertain, frightening time.
One day, this will all be added to my powerful testimony. God the ultimate Author is still writing my story – and yours. In the end, it will be beautiful and glorify Jesus Christ. He’s got you and me!
“The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:24
