Relaxation tips for busy wives and moms

Today after writing an article, recording a podcast, sending out my subscriber ezine, loading the dishwasher, cooking dinner, buying a few groceries, sweeping the kitchen, emptying the trash, and ironing my husband’s uniform, I FINALLY sat down on our green couch in the den to relax!  Now normally, I don’t do ALL those things in one day. But today was just one of those hectic, busy days.

Today’s wives and moms are constantly on the go, and live very hurried and often stressful lives.  As busy wives and moms, we need time to destress and to get a break. What do you do to relax?

Be sure to take a few minutes today to have “mom time” – take a hot bubble bath with lavender or myrrh oil, shop for an outfit, read a good book, go for a walk, or watch a chic flic. Jesus died on the cross for you because He views you as precious in His sight. You are so worth it! God wants you to be happy and at peace, so take care of yourself, too!

Hey! Last night I curled up on the couch for 30 whole minutes with a pile of books and my journal. It was great! : )

    Beth,
I loved what you said here. SO often I reach the end of my day and think “I am going to read my book for 20 minutes before I go to bed.” Then I forget I have to iron a shirt or put the sheets on the bed or fold a load of laundry. And it never happens. I feel frustrated with no time for myself in the day. But I feel guilty if I stop during the day.

Your post is making me rethink this–I need to make a little time to rest and relax. Thanks for a timely reminder–because there will ALWAYS be more to do!

Thank you, Jane! Same here – the good books always seem to get put on hold, after all those endless chores. Will we really get to the end of our lives and think we should have washed more dishes? 🙂 Sometimes we just need to leave the dishes or laundry, and go have some relaxing fun! I think we women are a little over the top on the guilt thing anyway – and I believe God really wants us to rest and relax MUCH more than we do!
