Statement of Faith

What I believe simply boils down to this: God is real, God is love, and God is merciful. I just couldn’t make it one second without Him. Words are simply inadequate to describe how good He is to me.

I was not raised in a Christian home, but one morning in Sunday school a teacher told me the gospel, and that planted a tiny seed of eternal truth into my heart. When I was 18 years old, I received Jesus Christ as my Savior, and was water baptized in the Baptist church I was attending.

However, self remained on the throne of my heart for many years, and throughout my 20’s, I ran away from the God who loved me enough to die for all my sins. My childhood sexual and physical abuse, two failed marriages, immoral relationships with men, and three abortions hardened my heart.

When I was 30 years old, I came face to face with the destructive consequences of my sins, and rededicated my life to Jesus Christ. I began attending a non-denominational church, where I grew in faith and revelation, diligently studying God’s word. God began to heal the pain in my heart, revealed how great his love and forgiveness were toward me, and taught me about the power of quick, daily repentance and forgiving others as He had forgiven me. He  is now not just my Savior, but my Lord and my King. Jesus is my Best Friend Forever.

I love talking to Him and just hanging out with Him! He has done incredible things in my life.  It is my passion to share the good news about Jesus to set the captive free, encouraging women to become all that God desires them to be, using their spiritual gifts for His glory.

Here is the more formal version of what I believe:

The basic creed of Reformed churches, as most familiarly known, is called the Apostles’ Creed. It has received this title because of its great antiquity; it dates from very early times in the Church, a half century or so from the last writings of the New Testament.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.

Amen.
