Feeling alone

Do you feel all alone? Like nobody cares? Sometimes life can be very lonely and difficult.  There are times when you feel like even your own family and friends aren’t really there for you.

You just want people to get you, and to love you unconditionally, flaws and all – just for who you are.  Sometimes your very own family, friends, and acquaintances turn on you, though – no understanding, no forgiveness, no mercy. They can say things that really hurt you.

At times you may wonder, what’s wrong with you? Why can’t you get the love you so desperately need from people?

You feel all alone.

Enoch may have experienced some of these same feelings of aloneness and loneliness. But Enoch knew there was one place to go – in God’s arms of everlasting love.  The Bible says in Genesis 5:24, “Enoch walked with God; then he was gone because God took him. ”

Each and every day, for hundreds of years, Enoch walked with God. Talking to Him. Listening to Him. Just hanging out with God his maker. Every day they grew closer and closer. They understood each other and loved each other.  They were Friends.  Then one day Enoch disappeared.  God just took him. He walked right on into heaven with God!

Enoch knew God was the one place he could go to, where he was not alone.  “Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.” (Psalm 27:10)

Family, friends, and others may forsake you, but God never will. God is always there for you. He will never leave you (Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5).  He loves you unconditionally.

He wants to walk and talk with you each day, like He did with Adam and Eve in the garden. Like He did with Enoch.  Will you talk and walk with God today – let Him be your friend?  You will never be alone again.
“God makes a home for the lonely.”  Psalm 68:6
