Happy September. I love the month of September because it’s the month where our beautiful daughter Heather and our beautiful granddaughter Annabelle and I were born. Also, the month(s) for cooler weather, beautifully colored Fall leaves, soft blankets and sweaters, tall leather boots, hoodies, hot cocoa, Starbucks’ Pumpkin spice hot and cold coffees, hot apple cider, and more fun things. It’s a new and glorious season.

Seasons change in our lives, too. It may be that:
- you were (like me) a stay at home, homeschooling mom and now you’re facing empty nest, which truly can feel empty at times;
- you are changing jobs, like my husband Ray who’s now a full-time paramedic again (please pray protection over his back and knees and extra strength for him. He says it’s not the years, it’s the mileage);
- you have new responsibilities at work, like our daughter Heather who manages 181 stores for her company QuikTrip;
- you’re beginning a second job, like our daughter Leah is right now, who’s wanting to pay off a credit card faster and to save money for her second trip with friends to Japan;
- your kids are starting at a new school, like our daughter Eden’s children are this school year;
- you are retired after working for most of your life, like my friends David Huff and Dan Zacharias;
- you’re traveling to a new nation, like my friend KimDiane who is flying to Peru today for a hiking adventure with her friends;
- you’re battling a medical diagnosis or your child or your family member is, like my friend who just received diagnoses for her child of ADHD Compound type, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia;
- you’re starting college or an online training, like my friends Caroline Cooper (starting her 2nd year in the Doctor of Ministry program) and Stephanie Carter (in January 2026, beginning Selah Wellness naturopathic practice to help anyone sick and toxic in their body, feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and spiritually disconnected from God).

This new season may be exciting and fun or scary and hard. Right now I’m walking through a new season, a dark valley. It’s not a season or valley that I want to be in. The good news it that God is with me. He will be with you, too.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money. Be happy with what you have. God has said, “I will never leave you or let you be alone.” (Hebrews 13:5, NKJV)
There are new seasons throughout the year. I love them all and believe that each one has a unique beauty, whether it be the fresh new flowers in spring or the beautiful, colored leaves in autumn.

Our lives are or can become beautiful, too, giving glory to Jesus, no matter what season we are facing right now.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, NKJV)
