Saying yes to God

table decoration with red candleThanksgiving is behind us, and now we’re getting into the Christmas holidays. No matter how hard my year has been, Christmas is always a time of year that gives me hope for the coming, new year. I feel a sense of excitement in my spirit that 2010 is going to be an INCREDIBLE year for God’s people!  I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this year!

This year we will have many opportunities to say yes to God. It’s easy to do that when God is asking us to do something we want to do anyway, or that we don’t mind doing, such as reading our Bible, going to church, or taking care of our kids. But what about when God asks us to do something we don’t really WANT to do – like forgiving someone (again) who hurt us, or witnessing to that rude co-worker?  Jesus understood what it was like to struggle with submission to God’s will in the garden. Through His grace and resurrected power, we too can learn to say yes to God.

What is God asking you to do today, and this coming year, that you need to say yes to?  What will your answer be?
