Praise Him

Today is Good Friday as well as Passover. Good Friday is the day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus. Passover is the day commemorating the story of the Exodus, where the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. The Jews were instructed to mark the door of their homes with the blood of a lamb so the LORD would pass over their first-borns from death. It is because of Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross and His shed blood that believers’ sins are “passed over” and are forgiven by God. It’s ironic that the holiday is named “Good” Friday, when what Jesus went through for you and me was so horrible.

As I ponder all that Christ has done for me, thankfulness fills my heart and tears fill my eyes. I’m grateful for God’s grace and mercy upon my life, and can’t help but praise Him. “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall be continually in my mouth.”  (Psalm 34:1)

As Easter approaches this Sunday, I encourage you to take time to reflect on all God has done for you – and praise Him.

Here is a video that I hope will bless you this Easter weekend.

Thanks Beth!  We always watch Passion of the Christ each Resurrection SONday and it gets harder to watch each year as I ponder all He willingly did for us.
