God-sized Dreams: When is it my turn, God?

I just saw Holley Gerth’s blog post on being a God-sized dreamer. God is a big God. He wants to make your big dreams come true. He’s the one who put them there. 🙂

Just this morning, I was sharing in a Facebook forum that I love helping to lift women’s heads to look into God’s face and to see their true identity and greatest potential. God has so much more in store for you, dear friend.

I love what Holley writes here:

A God-sized dream isn’t about what you do as much as how you do it. It’s about pursuing life with passion, purpose, and going with God wherever he leads.

It’s about not settling. It’s about tenaciously believing you’re made for more.

Not as in “bigger house, fancier car, more luxurious lifestyle.”

No, my friend, I mean “more of Jesus, more of what he’s created you to be, more of what he’s called you to do.”

Less of you, actually, and more of all he is and all he has for you—which is beyond what you can even imagine.

What has God created you to be? What has He called you to do? What are His Big Dreams for you? Do you know?

Take time to spend with God so He can show you His Big Dreams for you.

Maybe you do know. Maybe you’ve had those Big Dreams burning in your heart for years.

Maybe you look around at other women and feel like you’re on the outside looking in. The pain goes right through you when you hear of another author whose new book launch is going fabulous or who has 3 (or 6 or 10!) speaking engagements lined up this year.

“When is it my turn, God?”

“God, why are you blessing other speakers, writers, coaches, entrepreneurs, _____ (you fill in the blank of who you envy or feel jealous of) and let them experience their Big Dreams, while I struggle so much?”

Don’t let go of your Big Dreams, dear friend. Keep dreaming. Keep praying.

Keep holding those dreams in your heart. Their time of ripeness will come to pass if you don’t give up.

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. – James 5:7, NIV

Born to fly and multiply

One of the most beautiful creations God made and one of my favorite is the butterfly. Butterflies are free.

Have you ever seen a butterfly who looked stressed out, worried, angry, depressed, discouraged, or unhappy? No. Butterflies are happy. 🙂

I researched caterpillars and butterflies today. It was fascinating to read about them.

Caterpillars are one big munching machine from the time they are born until the time they are transformed into the butterfly. They even eat their own skin in the chrysalis!

Butterflies are more graceful and delicate. Their favorite beverage is a flower drink (the nectar).

Butterflies are all about flight and reproduction. Even when resting, butterflies are often preparing for flight by keeping their wing muscles warm enough to move.

Butterflies also have an extremely short life span.

The small blue butterfly can live only a few days. The migrating monarch butterfly can live up to 12 months. Some species of butterflies migrate thousands of miles or hibernate in the winter.

But at the end of their journey or at the beginning of spring, all butterflies’ actions are the same. They mate, the females lay eggs, and then all the adults die.

The eggs hatch into caterpillars, which turn into similarly short-lived butterflies.

Born to freely fly. Born to multiply.

It’s the same with us as Christian believers.

We weren’t made to just munch, munch, munch our way through life – consuming everything the world offers such as material goods, entertainment, social media, food.

We were created for so much more – to fly with God. To fulfill His purpose for our lives. To be fruitful and multiply on earth, to subdue it and rule over everything. (Genesis 1:28)  To leave a Godly legacy through our children.

“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31, NLT

We are to be Freed by His Love, Transformed by His Power.
