When A Child Is Sad

Reese’s Peanut Butter/Chocolate Cheesecake – Cheesecake Factory, Overland Park, KS

Today I had fun spending time with my girls Heather and Leah. Leah and I went to pick up Heather at the car dealership, waiting on a minor part to be repaired, and we had lunch at the Tea Garden Chinese restaurant.

Then we went shopping at Kohl’s to buy a new set of luggage for Leah, her graduation gift from my dad in Georgia.

Afterward, we stopped by the Cheesecake Factory in Overland Park for a delicious dessert. Heather had been thinking of going there on her special day off work for her birthday. Leah had never been there before and I wanted her to have the unforgettable experience.

If you are ever in Kansas City, you simply MUST visit the Cheesecake Factory and try some of their famous cheesecake (their meals are divine, too!).  I had so much fun spending the day with my daughters!

However, Heather is going through some hard things right now.

She has lost her joy. It breaks my heart to look at her sad face. I just want to hug her and take away all her pain.  It hurts me to see my child hurting.

God feels the same way about us, His beloved children.

Are you hurting? Go to Jesus. He understands what pain is like. He went through it and even died for us. He will hold you and tell you how much He loves you.

“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” – Isaiah 53:3, NIV

Please keep Heather (unspoken requests) in your prayers.
