What’s new: my last Vlogmas of 2022, Cultivate speaking event, my new book, and one-word 2023

Hi there! I’ve got several exciting things to share with you today!

First, here’s my last Vlogmas 2022 (vlogs that are about Christmas – a vlog is a video + a blog). I share about creating a miniature Christmas tree for our daughters Eden and Leah from Ray’s mom’s (their “Mimi”) Christmas crafts. She made me one with bears when Ray and I first married, and made another with snowmen that I gave our daughter Heather when mom passed away, as Heather (and I) loves snowmen.

You can see the finished adorable trees, as well as me wrapping and mailing gifts, and our daughter Leah’s, Ray’s, and my Christmas gifts we got, set to Christmas music, on the vlog.

I’m still learning HOW to vlog, but it sure is FUN! I’ve been watching other vloggers on YouTube about Vlogmas & travel vlogs.

Below is the link to my last Vlogmas of 2022:

An update of what I’ve been doing

I haven’t been blogging lately. Just doing life stuff. So…I thought I’d give you an update of what’s been going on this year. First, about writing.

Kingdom Writers book

Part of my story is in a chapter of my writing coaches CJ Hitz and Shelley Hitz’s book, Kingdom Writers. I helped to promote it. You can find the book here, available on Amazon. It is a great book!

I’m one of the featured alumni panelist speakers for Shelley’s upcoming Kingdom Writers conference on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 11 a.m. eastern time, so stay tuned for more news about that!

Each alumni speaker will only speak for a few minutes, but this is such an honor that Shelley asked me to do this!  This edition of the conference is dedicated to helping authors build their platform and sell more books through collaborations

If you need a speaker for your women’s conference, retreat, online event, or podcast, or know an event planner who does, please contact me here. I love encouraging women and giving them the hope of Jesus Christ!

I’ve also been writing a Vella fiction short story called She Won. It’s about a recent widow and mom of 4 grown children, Norah Wellington, who goes to the convenience store every day to buy a coffee, a chocolate doughnut with colored sprinkles, and a lottery ticket. One day she wins the jackpot.

She winds up moving to Destin beach, Florida, the place of her dreams. She has heard that winning the lottery can be a curse instead of a blessing. It also changes people–for the worst! What will Norah do with the money?

Women in Biz Podcast series (the joys and the challenges & success tips)

Women in Biz podcast series

Are you a woman in business/entrepreneur?

Would you like some great tips for success?

I’ve been having women guests for my podcast to either speak or be interviewed about the joys and the challenges of being a woman in business (or entrepreneur).

I have a few more women lined up to share in the following weeks, but here is who I’ve had as my guest so far, and their topic of discussion. They have been amazing and I think these podcasts will encourage and bless you!

  • Me (Kickstarting the series, sharing a bit about my own entrepreneurial journey);
  • Dana Arcuri, Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, Author, and Speaker (Trusting in God’s Unknown Territory);
  • My beautiful, precious sister, Maria Willis, Counselor (You can reach your dreams, even with mental health struggles);
  • My business coach, Diane Cunningham Ellis (Catch on and stay on fire in your business);
  • Doreen Penner, Canadian Coach, Speaker, and Author (Get clear & be confident);
  • Shelby B. Ketchen, Content Repurposing & Project Management & Launches (Get the “tech” help you need if you feel frazzled and frustrated.)

I also just added my podcast this week about the stressful events (and the joys) of house-sitting and puppy-sitting our daughter Heather’s puppy Angel, while she, her fiance Andy, and his 3 kids Kelsey, Kayden, and Eian drove from Belton, Missouri to Gulf Shores, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, for a 9-day, relaxing beach vacation. (This might be a business venture idea for YOU; the national average income for puppy-sitters is $15 an hour, or $31,629 per year, according to ZipRecruiter.)

Two more interviews for my Women in Biz podcast series are lined up this week with Author/Editor/Speaker Sharon Rose (Write your story & leave your legacy) and Wellness Coach/Speaker/R.N. Joycelynn Harrell. (Working a J-O-B as you go for your dreams).  If you are interested in being a guest for my podcast (to speak or be interviewed), please contact me here.

What have you found to be the joys and the challenges of this exciting, but not always easy entrepreneurial journey? Please leave your comments below.
