“God is ready and waiting. So while I have no idea what circumstance you find yourself in, I’m confident that you are only one prayer away from a dream fulfilled, a promise kept, or a miracle performed. It is absolutely imperative at the outset that you come to terms with this simple yet life-changing truth: God is for you. If you don’t believe that, then you’ll pray small timid prayers. If you do believe it, then you’ll pray big audacious prayers.” – Mark Batterson, The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears ***, p. 15.
Are you praying big, bold prayers?
Recently I read a scripture that went right through me and deeply challenged my faith: Joshua commanding the sun and the moon to stand still. (Numbers 14: 12)
That same week, I received Sandi Krakowski’s email that was about this Bible verse. I’ve walked long enough with God by now to know that when something comes up two or three times the same week, God is speaking – and to sit up and pray close attention.
Sandi excitedly shared with her fans about Steven Furtick’s new book, Sun Stand Still: What Happens When You Dare to Ask God for the Impossible***.I promptly bought it and absorbed it like a sponge. Its theme is on Numbers 14:12 – praying outrageous prayers and God answering them according to His will. I love Steven’s passion for God and His people and his raw faith.
Next, I heard about and read Mark Batterson’s book,The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears***. Batterson challenges the reader that God is a big God, bigger than any of your problems, fears, or dreams, and He wants to answer your prayers in ways you can’t even imagine.
Sometimes we pray and believe too small. Sometimes we don’t pray at all.
I was challenged by these books to pray more, pray bolder, and pray outrageous, impossible prayers – because God is just waiting to answer them when they line up with His word and His will.
You are just one prayer away from a miracle performed, a promise fulfilled, or a dream coming true.
Your prayers are important. Your prayers are vital. Sometimes they can be a matter of life and death.
You can partner with God to accomplish the impossible through your prayers.
