National Day Of Prayer this Thursday, May 5

The 60th annual observance of the National Day Of Prayer is this Thursday, May 5, 2011. This year’s verse is Psalm 91:2, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I will trust.”

There are several ways you can get involved in this event:

A huge answered prayer of mine and others and a great victory in the U.S. (if the news report is true)  is that Osama bin Laden has been killed – the radical Muslim who inspired the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks against the U.S., which killed almost 3,000 people in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. I prayed fervently when Bush was President that this man would be caught and that God’s justice would be served. We now need to pray preventatively against any retaliation from extremists for his death.

Remember that God hears your prayers.

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16, ISV)

This Thursday, please participate in some way in the National Day Of Prayer, whether that is simply saying a prayer in your car on the way to work, praying at home as you’re making a sandwich for your kids’ and your husband’s lunches, or attending prayer at noon at your church. Our nation desperately needs prayer. Pray especially for President Obama and all of America’s leaders in every aspect of society. Pray for yourself and your family, and all your loved ones.

Make a difference with your prayers.
