The death toll has now risen to 9 dead, and the people of the USA and even the world are anxiously waiting news for a miracle of survivors from the tragic Champlain Towers condominium collapse in Miami, Florida. Survivors and their family members of the USA’s 9-11 attack grimly remember that horrifying day as they watch the news about the condo. In the midst of this new tragedy, we’re also dealing with the Coronavirus (and the Delta variant), outbreaks driving some places back under new lockdowns, and other frightening news like the extreme heat wave across the western United States.
It seems like there is so much bad news now, which is why I rarely even read it any more. I read just enough every few days to know what is going on in the world for prayer/intercessory purposes.
We need GOOD NEWS and HOPE.

When you go on social media sites, you’ll read a lot of different strong opinions about wearing a mask vs. not wearing one regarding the Coronavirus —even by Christian believers.
This week I watched as a friend on Facebook posted her beliefs about not wearing a mask. And then the unbelievably hateful attacks came as satan’s flaming arrows toward her, one after the other, rapidly. People who did not just disagree with her beliefs, but they were calling her stupid, an idiot, a hypocrite, making fun of for her for wearing glasses, makeup, tattoos, and a seatbelt, cussing at her, cursing her to die with the virus, telling her she was killing others with COVID-19, mocking God’s and Jesus’ existence, posting blasphemous cartoon memes about Jesus, and much more.

Summer is here and it’s a good time to reflect on and reevaluate how the year is going. You and I may have had bodacious plans for 2020, such as traveling to another country, getting fit and losing 20 pounds, or becoming debt-free. We certainly didn’t expect to be in the middle of a global pandemic and seeing riots, looting, and violence over George Floyd and racism.
